Generations of Cooling Innovation

United Metal Products® was founded in 1978 by partners with deep roots in the cooling industry. Their grandfather, John Goettl, was a pioneer in the commercial development of evaporative cooling systems in the 1930s—laying the groundwork for innovations that would shape the industry for decades to come.

What began as a startup focused on regional HVAC needs has grown into one of the nation's leading manufacturers of energy-efficient cooling solutions. UMP® is now widely recognized for its expertise in evaporative cooling technologies, particularly in applications where water and energy use must be optimized without compromising performance—such as data centers, industrial plants, and large-scale commercial facilities.

With over four decades of experience and a lineage tied to the earliest days of climate control innovation, UMP® continues to push forward—engineering advanced, sustainable systems that meet the demands of modern infrastructure.
