Description: This position as Product Development Coordinator will involve working with the following departments: Quality Control, Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Safety.
Responsibilities:
  • Establishing physical flat pattern sheet metal layouts and maintaining a consistent standard of manufactured sheet metal and structural parts for various AHU (Air Handing Unit) product lines.
  • Creating, reviewing and maintaining standardized AHU (Air Handling Unit) drawing packets and BOMs (Bill of Material) for use by all departments at UMP.
  • Obtaining and testing potential new manufactured and purchased components.
  • Developing new products in conjunction with the Sales Team and Management Team.
  • Creating ECR (Engineering Change Requests) for all changes made to existing AHU products as well as for the introduction of new products.
  • Must have knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing, work cell design, and methods of production.
  • Develop new and maintain existing files, spreadsheets and electronic tools for organization, selection and design of AHU components and units.
  • Project coordination of all projects under scope including regular follow-up, next steps, project file maintenance, and communication.

Responsibilities:
Sales Support:
  • Assist the Sales team in the interpreting of specifications and or sequence of operations to create a control package to meeting the customer’s needs. This may include meeting directly with customer/ engineer or even site visits. Design, drafting, reviewing, or revising:
  • Electrical Diagrams and Product Specifications for all product lines.
  • One-line Diagrams (Quote Level)
  • Ladder Diagrams (Submittal Level)
  • Assist in As Built Diagrams (Post Production)
  • Refrigeration systems

  • Sequence of Operations

Purchasing Support:
  • Assist in locating hard to find parts or parts outside of the realm of purchasing departments knowledge.
  • Selection of components to create a base Bill of Materials for HVAC packages.

Customer Support:
  • Assist Customer Service personnel in problem solving & trouble shooting equipment. This may include making the call to ordering parts or going out to the site to make corrections if necessary.

Engineering Support:
  • Assist in Estimating, Design, R&D, Testing and Analysis as necessary.

Plant Support:
  • Assist in any special control needs for our own facility.
  • Assist as necessary in final hookup and testing of HVAC systems on the plant floor or in the field.
  • Be available for questions from the plant floor on project designs and best practice for installation.
  • Assist the Plant in making building and installing parts in a safe manner that is in line with codes and industry standards.
  • Assist with the installation and testing of HVAC systems.

Safety:
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining Safety Standards related to the installation and testing of HVAC related items in the plant.

Description: We are seeking to hire an individual to assist in developing and maintaining our Quality Management Systems. These systems include processes and systems related to supplier quality management (selection and review), new product industrialization, document control, engineering and manufacturing change requests, assembly process controls, root cause analysis and collating of quality KPIs for reporting purposes. In addition to developing and maintaining the Quality Management Systems, the QA Administrator will facilitate and support training and enforcement of the Quality Management Systems.
The QMS relates to a range applications which may include but not be limited to:
  • Fabricated sheet metal components
  • Structural and sheet metal weldments
  • HVAC related components including dampers, compressors, motors, fans, actuators, PLCs, media, pumps, etc.

  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks files

  • Maintain a Document Control system
  • Develop Work Instructions
  • Facilitate FMEA for new and existing product
  • Inspection of incoming and outgoing product
  • Document changes to and maintain the policies related to the QMS
  • Contribute to relevant safety policies and procedures
  • Read and interpret design documents
  • Facilitate the implementation of lean methodologies for manufacturing as they relate to Quality Control

Education and Experience:

  • (3-5) years of Quality Control/Assurance experience
  • Quality Control and Assurance experience including
    • Root cause investigation and analysis

Skills Required:
  • Proficient in First Article Inspections and final product review.
  • Well versed in the use of quality precision tools such as; micrometers, tape measure, digital/dial calipers, gage blocks and gage pins
